White Fillings Wimbledon

At Wimbledon Dental Wellness, we can offer our patients a more natural-looking alternative to traditional fillings with white fillings.

White fillings – also known as composite fillings after the material they are made of – are designed to have a much more natural-looking appearance than traditional fillings. Traditionally, fillings are made of a metal amalgam which appears silver in colour in the mouth and can cause some patients to feel self-conscious about their smile.

White fillings are able to mimic the appearance of a tooth much more effectively. Not only can we shade match for the natural tooth, but we can easily and skillfully shape the white filling to fit in practically seamlessly with the rest of the tooth and mouth.

White fillings are generally composite fillings or glass ionomer fillings. They are usually bonded in for extra retention and can be easily maintained with easy repairs.

We can also use mercury-free fillings (white) to replace older, traditional mercury or metal fillings should you wish to do so. Some patients decide to replace older fillings with white fillings out of necessity or sometimes the older filling may be leaking and they may be concerned about mercury. Other patients look to replace their filling purely for aesthetic reasons.
